Elusive King wins

It was nice to get a win with Elusive King in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Naas for owner David Kelly on the last day of the Flat Turf Season.

He has come on since his first run at Naas two weeks ago and Chris Hayes said after the race “I was confident that he’d get there and travelled real strong. Colin Keane’s horse got a bit upset in the gates beside me and my lad was standing a bit awkward and missed it a fraction. On the conditions, it probably helped.

“He’s a genuine horse and coped with the ground and I think he’ll improve on better ground. It’s a real war of attrition.”
