We’ve always thought him a talented colt and he has wintered well. His first outing of 2018 came in the Tetrarch Stakes (Listed) in Naas, a race he has come out of well. The race was a little inconclusive from our point of view as just as he was coming with a run at the furlong pole, he met with interference. It is difficult to know where he’d have finished but, in the circumstances, we are happy with his run and hopefully he can improve from it. He will now take his chances in the 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh, where if he relaxes and stays he could run a big race at a big price.
He ran well to finish second in the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes in Naas at the start of May, having set a very strong gallop, he did well to hold 2nd. He has come out of the race very well and ground permitting he will now take his place in the Tattersalls Gold Cup on Guineas weekend at the Curragh, which he has finished 4th and 3rd in for the last two years. He is entitled to take his place in this and can hopefully collect more prize money along the way.
We weren’t entirely satisfied with her in the spring in her fast work, so she went home for a break. She has now arrived back in the yard and is in good form and has come in her coat. Plans remain fluid at the moment, but we are hoping to get her to a racecourse in June.
