Two Winners Since Friday

Believe In Beauty won the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden in Dundalk last Friday by a length and a quarter ridden by Niall McCullagh

Niall thought she would like the surface and he was right. She’s been very consistent and was deserving of that, she likes fast ground, she doesn’t bend her knee.

“Even from a poor draw she broke smart and got a good tow into the race. Niall said he was going well everywhere. She was dead straight up the home run.

“It was great to get another win for owner David Kelly. He’s had a good year and has been a good supporter and been lucky.

“We’ll look for a nursery or something here. She’s actually in the Forans series final and it’s a nice pot.

“She’ll run away, she’s taking it well, and we’ll keep going to the end of the season.”

Schroders Mistake a daughter of Cable Bay won the Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Maiden at Fairyhouse on Monday under Niall McCullagh by a length and three parts with four lengths back to third.

She had a good first run in Leopardstown and the race has worked out well. We are delighted with that and it’s nice for the owners.

She showed another facet to her game by handling that ground, which has gone on soft, as she had been running on top of the ground.

There are options of two races for her now, either the final of the Foran series over 7f  or a race over 6f on the same day.

Romanised to stay in training in 2020

It was great to be able to disclose on Wednesday that Romanised will stay in training for 2020.  His owner, Mr.Ng has said consistently since he was a 2 yr old that he would improve with maturity and age. Its certainly seems that way this season so far.
For next season I’d anticipate him starting in the Lockinge at Newbury and following a similar program to this season with the Queen Anne and Jacques le Marois featuring.
In the immediate future is the Prix du Moulin at Longchamp on Sunday next. He seems well since his super win in the Jacques Le Marois. Hopefully, he will be at his best physically,  enjoy luck in running and we will see where that leaves him.

Celtic Beauty wins at Naas

Celtic Beauty ran out a 2 and a half-length winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden over 5f at Naas on Monday. Second previously in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, it was nice to get the maiden win with her.

“Billy said she travelled through the race really nicely and when she does get to the front, she doesn’t kill herself.

“Hopefully she will go to the Lowther Stakes next at York. They go very quick normally and she seems to travel very easily through her races. She’s entitled to go there.”

Aleef continues his good season

With two wins and two places from just six runs, Aleef has been a nice addition to our team. He maintained his good season for the Cinco Partnership when he registered his second success on Saturday in Naas in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race over 5f.

A son of Kodiac, he is a solid, hard running, tough sprinter who enjoys his racing.

“He won a lovely pot at Navan for us and he goes on most ground including the all-weather, but he would have appreciated that little bit of rain we got that morning.

“He’s just jumps and runs. If we had a few more like him it would be great.”

Ridden by Billy Lee, he kept on well to win by a length and three parts.
